What an incredible event! We are honored to have been asked to return for the second year as the preferred Caterer for the History Rocks! Gala & Auction at the Harbor History Museum in Gig Harbor.
With the theme of a Parisian Masquerade, the airplane hangar was a sight to behold. Glamorous masks, sparkling dresses and dapper suits were everywhere! Alas, just like in The Wizard of Oz, behind the curtain was where all of the action was!
We had our kitchen set up outdoors; watching planes coming and going while preparing 250+ meals was amazing! Our staff worked tirelessly to create picture-perfect byaldis, vegan & gluten-free butternut squash lasagna, filet of beef and seafood gratin. In addition to the main courses, the hors d’oeuvres were pure magic! Dungeness crab tarts, Asian-style meatballs, and goat cheese & strawberry red wine jam tarts whet the guests’ palates while they roamed the event. When everyone sat down at their assigned tables, they were greeted with baskets of artisanal bread and butter. Heirloom tomatoes (nothing compares to the flavor of fresh, locally grown tomatoes!!), mozzarella, aromatic basil, and a thick, rich, balsamic drizzle set the stage for an elegant evening.
All of us Chef Sunshine Catering strive for perfection in creating the events our clients envision; no detail is too small, no request too absurd. In fact, we relish the opportunity to get creative in our kitchen! Chef Sunshine has a depth of knowledge that lends itself well to meeting the varied needs of our clientele. Dietary restrictions, special requests (Grandma’s “famous” meatball recipe!), honoring our client’s heritage with an heirloom recipe, or a delightful twist on a classic….. We’re ready and willing to rise to the challenge!
The History Rocks! Auction was a fun opportunity to show off a bit of our culinary magic; we are looking forward to next year!
